I highly Recommend "Wild At Heart" and "The Way of The Wild Heart" both by John Eldredge
I was reminded of how much God, (our Heavenly Father), truly loves us and wants us to be the Men we were designed to become.

I hope you take the time to read these books, if you do, please contact me.

I like the book too. Just one warning though, Elderidge is an Open Theist. If you look hard on some of his chapters you will find it. It took me a while to figure out why I disagreed with him on some points. But I really like how he challenges us to become men again.

shalomI haven't seen any evidence that he is an Open Theist. He seems to be coming from a Judeo-Christian perspective in what I have read so far. He quotes from the Scriptures and uses Jesus and the Father as examples of love and manliness.
PLease show me where he veers off of sound doctrine and beleifs.

Frank,

here is CT article on Eldredge:

http://ctlibrary.com/11237

And here are some examples from the book:

1. "God is a person who takes immense risks" (p. 30).

2. "It's not the nature of God to limit His risks and cover His bases" (p. 31)

3. "As with every relationship, there's a certain amount of unpredictability. God's willingness to risk is just astounding. There is definitely something wild in the heart of God" (p. 32)

I hope this helps. Again, a lot of what he has to say about gender, etc is good. But I worry about his Open Theism.
